The new format is by no means a dealbreaker, but I do tend to prefer the longer episodes. Even if they're more infrequent, they feel cohesive in a way the shorter episodes don't, particularly when references call back to something that, while it h...

I'm under the impression they plan to have copies for sale. They may be early, rush order copies, with the bulk of the print run taking the slow boat, but I'm pretty certain Hero Games plans to be selling 6th Edition at Gencon, barring disaster.

I have a Master Degree in Eletrical and Computer Engineering, in order to get that I had to get slightly more then a Math Minor (dispite the fact I don't actual have a minor degree), The problity of any single number coming up on a 1d20 roll in on...

With the d6 used to determine whether it's 1-10 or 11-20 I would assume? Just at a glance it makes sense that it would work out, but I'm not about to sit down and try the math just now. Another time, maybe.

I just double-checked to make sure I was right; I remembered this being portrayed in the first half-hour or so of The Longest Day. Of course, the timing was a lot more compressed...

I have heard debate over whether rolling 1d10+1d6 to generate a number from 1 to 20 is equivalent, in terms of probability, to rolling 1d20. Most people just scoff at the idea that it isn't, as though it's an old wives tale.

There was a story going around back in the 1980's that TSR copyrighted the word "Nazi", or at least they were trying to. The Truth was far less interesting. When they did the Indiana Jones RPG, they were required, under the contract, to put the c...

There is a myth that during WW2, one of Hitler's generals used to play wargames with his colleagues and liked to play the allies. He managed to succeed at Normandy but the win was put down to luck and the wargame only being a simulation.

I remember seeing that story back in the 90s on USENet. One of the rec.games.frp.dnd faqs dates it to 1997, and has actual names attached, although I have no idea if it would be possible to nail it down farther than that, given the passage of time...

Following on from Mags' comment about the CD of printable Call of Cthulhu products, there are also a number of free downloadable props on the Cthulhulives.org site: http://www.cthulhulives.org/toybox/propdocs/FreeProps.html My favorite is the Mis...

Let me kick off this thread with a myth that must be nearly impossible to verify or discredit: the Head of Vecna. Short version: two groups play independently in the same campaign world. One group sets up a huge booby trap that the other group fal...

Anyone can add events, I'm pretty sure. It just goes into an approval process outside of site staff (which is, currently, AGC folks). This is currently just for checking accuracy of the info provided. If you've got something, then please, by all m...

Is the events calendar meant for doings by AGC folks, or can anyone throw up their gaming-related event?

Usually I sweat and curse and knock my head against the wall when coming up with an adventure outline. Somehow, using this form, I bashed out more than enough stuff to cram in an Infinite Worlds adventure. Thanks, Mags!

About Me
I'm an avid player of both board games and roleplaying games. I don't get to play as often as I might like, so I try to make it up for that by helping to plan the local gaming convention, Northeast Wars, and participate in other aspects of the regional scene.
