What would folks think of a change in AGC to a more "magazine" format -- contributors sending in segments to be compiled into the larger whole. This is largely what is happening with RPG Buffet and Games You May Never Have Heard Of as it is, and I've had the suggestion made to me recently.
If you're familiar with Mick's old Misfit Brew, that's what I'm talking about.
I think that a magazine format could work well for the show. It could allow people to contribute despite scheduling conflicts and you cold even fit in an occasional guest editorial or piece from the extended community here. The only potential downside I see is if people start to procrastinate on their magazine contributions. Getting together to record a show is a positive from of peer pressure to keep everybody on track. Still, if everybody is self disciplined and full if initiative, give it a try.
As it happens, I've had a refinement of the idea; maybe doing a lot of the segments as separate shows. There shouldn't be any less content, just in many smaller chunks rather than one big one every couple of weeks.
I'm still mulling the possibilities of that one. I agree about the recording session, though.
I kind of like the main portion of the show being the core group around a table, talking and discussing things, without skype delays, etc. A much more natural flow of conversation than shows where everyone skypes in.
Now, I would not be against more segments added in, like Ben B's and the RPG Buffet, but I don't think I would like it with you just announcing each segment and then announcing the next segment.
